NEW ENTERTAINMENT DEVELOPMENT
Wallis Cinema, a South Australian institution in the entertainment industry, is excited to unveil its newest project at their Mt Barker location - currently boasting Wallis Mt Barker Cinemas and historic Auchendarroch House function and dining venue.
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Seeing an opportunity in this fast-growing Adelaide Hills town to build on their already extensive facilities, Wallis are now well into the planning stages to create an immersive entertainment destination, hotel facilities and increased function facilities that promise to redefine entertainment in the area and provide much needed accommodation for tourists and conference goers coming into the region.

This ambitious redevelopment by the Wallis Family will feature a reimagining of two of the cinemas making way for arcade games, crazy mini golf, laser tag, bowling and sensory spaces catering to diverse audiences including young families and youth from Mt Barker and surrounding Adelaide Hills towns.

A new performing arts stage within the cinema will host live performances, concerts,
and theatre shows, complementing Mount Barker’s cultural offerings.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​A function centre for over 300 guests will offer a flexible space with stunning views of the area, while a 100-room four-star hotel will enhance the region's visitor economy, providing premium accommodation and linking to the Wallis Event Centre for weddings, conferences, and more.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Wallis Cinema is actively consulting with key stakeholders, including the Mount Barker
District Council, relevant State and Federal Government personnel, Walter Brooke Architects,
Forthwell Pty Ltd and Savills, to ensure the project supports the broader economic and community development goals of the region.

It is anticipated that the entertainment and function components will be open in the last half of 2026 with the hotel set to open in 2027.
